Evaluation of the Physicochemical Characteristics of Doctor's Formulas Liposomal Formulations Food Supplements
The research was conducted at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, under the supervision of Prof. Demetzos Konstantinos.
Food supplements are considered as complementary supporters and supplement the human health and nutrient, respectively.
They are used in cases that essential elements are missing from the human organism because of the modern lifestyle.
Nanotechnology involves the utilization of nanoparticulate sytems such as liposomes in order to physicochemically protect, stabilize and safely
transport food supplements like minerals, vitamins, antioxidants as well as bioactive materials to the tissues by increasing their absorption and bioavailability.
The purpose of this investigation is to study the physicochemical characteristics of nanoparticulate/liposomal formulations incorporating
vitamins and food supplements based on liposomal technology.
The studies revealed that the colloidal particles are in the nanoscale dimension and could be characterized as multilamellar vesicles with adequate size and size distribution with respect to the nature of the product particles.
The physicochemical characteristics of Doctor's Formulas Liposomal Formulations are excellent (stable and effective) and meet all the requirements for oral administration.
Finally, this is an evidence of excellence in the science of these liposomal nutraceuticals, revealing their added value as food supplements
